Cal For Me for iPhone and iPad

Starting a session

Tap + on the home screen. Give the night a name, set how many players are at the table (2 to 10), and type their names. If you're playing for money, switch on Money Mode here and set what one point is worth — you can also do it later, mid-game, and the totals will catch up.

Recording a round

Tap Win and pick the player who took the round, then enter what each of the others lost. The winner's score is the sum of those losses, so you never type it yourself.

If your game works the other way — one person pays everyone else — tap Lose instead, pick who paid, and enter what each of the others gained.

To fill every player with the same number at once, tap one of the amounts in the row at the top (3, 5, 10, 50). To set one player only, tap an amount under their name. For anything else, tap the keyboard icon and type it. You can make the number pad open automatically in Settings.

Fixing a wrong score

Three ways, depending on how far back the mistake is:

• Just happened — tap the last round card and choose Edit Last Round, or Undo Last Round to remove it.
• A few rounds ago — open Calculate to see the scoreboard, then tap the round you want and correct or delete it.
• Wrong player name — swipe the player in the standings list to rename them.

Every total recalculates as soon as you make the change.

Players who join late or sit out

Tap Add Player in the standings to bring someone in mid-session; they start at 0. To let someone sit out a few rounds, swipe their row and choose Pause — paused players score 0, don't appear on the round entry screen, and can't win a round. Swipe again and choose Resume when they come back.

Money Mode

Open the session menu and choose Money Mode. Set what a single point is worth and pick your currency. Every total then shows a money figure beside its points figure, and Settle Up lists the payments. Turning Money Mode off leaves the scores untouched — it only hides the currency.

Money Mode is a calculator. Cal For Me doesn't take payments, hold money, or move anything between people.

Settling up

Open Settle Up from the session menu. It works out the smallest set of payments that squares everyone, so with five players you usually get three or four transfers rather than ten. Tap the share icon to send the list to the group chat.

Stats and the score graph

Open Player Stats for win rate, average per round, best streak, best and worst round, and total points lost for every player. From the scoreboard, tap the chart icon to see how the totals moved round by round.

iCloud sync

Settings → Sync with iCloud. When it's on, your sessions appear on every device signed in to the same Apple Account. Both devices need to be signed in to iCloud and connected; a session edited on one shows up on the other shortly afterwards. If something looks out of date, open the app on both devices with a connection and give it a moment.

Sync is off by default. With it off, everything stays on the one device — which also means it isn't backed up anywhere, so don't delete the app if you want to keep a session.

Sharing a scoreboard

Tap the share icon on the Scoreboard or Settle Up screen to export a PDF of the night, then send it wherever you like.

Ads

Cal For Me is free and carries ads through Google AdMob. You can control ad personalisation in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and — in the EEA, UK and Switzerland — from the consent option in the app's Settings screen. See the privacy policy for the detail.

Something's broken

Email calforme151@gmail.com with your device model, iOS version, the app version (App Store → your account → Cal For Me), and what you were doing when it went wrong. If a session is affected, a screenshot of the scoreboard is the fastest way for us to see it.
